Rocky Pt - Halloween 09

Happy Halloween Everyone!

No tricks but treats today on the north shore.

It was sunny, offshore and perfect fun size.

The contest was on at Sunset Beach but I headed over to Rocky Point.

The waves were not that big but the swell was still filling in and getting bigger. Im sure the surf was double overhead by late afternoon.

Looks like I will have to make the long drive out to the north shore to get my surf on.

October Swell

There is a little energy today but not nearly as big as SNN had reported.

C`mon....6 feet Hawaiian.....get real guys at SNN. Dont get me wrong, I love you guys but I cant help your false report is just a ploy to keep the town bros from going north on a day when the north shore pushing our "Town~y" surf.

Anyway, keep it positive.

Just glad to have some energy in mid~October.

Report is calling for bigger surf tomorrow so I will keep an eye on it.

Sorry, we have been away for a while.

Things just keep coming up and we just have not have had the time to update...or even surf.

I wish I could live the life of a pro free surfer.

It is funny how reality gets in the way of our dreams.

Well, summer is over and what a summer it was.

July was good but June 09 will go down in history as one of the best months ever!

We just had some energy in town but the southern winds are making mush.

Its time to break out the long boards and SUPs.

A bad day surfing is better than a good day at work.

Tandem Semi-Finals

I was able to make it to Waikiki this morning to catch the Dukes Oceanfest Tandem Surfing Contest.

And what a beautiful day it was.

Perfect conditions.....just no waves.

The sets were few and far between.

Still, the surfers put on a good show for everyone. The tandem event seems to be a crowd favorite.

These guys make it look so easy.

The power needed to lift and carry a girl over your head with one arm....unreal.

And the girls.... graceful and brave.

Waikiki...Duke's Oceanfest

I went to check out the Oceanfest in Waikiki.

I was unable to stay for the tandem but got a chance to see the mens longboard action.

The surf was small and the tide was high. The lucky ones were able to catch the set waves and get high scores.

The unlucky ones were scratching to catch anything.

I will try and get some photos of the tandem surfing tomorrow.

I hope the waves pick up just a little more.

Dukes Oceanfest is starting off this weekend at Waikiki.

Dont miss out on all the action. It is one of my favorite events in the summer.

I love to watch the tandem surfing. I have no idea how these guys and girls do it. They make it look so easy.

Carbon Copy Day

We are under a flash flood watch but there has been no sign of rain in town.

The surfs look the same as a couple of days ago....without the sewage.

The conditions were looking really good today and the line-up at Kewalo Basin was getting crowded around 2 this afternoon.

The swell is still hanging around and there should be a bump up tomorrow.

Also, Duke`s Ocean Fest is this weekend.
